Qualifications: BAppSc (MLS), MPhilSc (research)
Vikki is a trained molecular biologist with a degree In Medical Laboratory Science and a Masters in Genetics (by research) from the University of Melbourne. She started her career at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI) where she worked for 25 years as researcher (genetics of host resistance to malaria) and laboratory manager of the Genetics and Bioinformatics Division. She has headed three Genomics and Next Generation Sequencing facilities at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the University of Queensland and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, as well as project and program management roles at the Melbourne Neuroscience Institute and the Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium (MPCCC), playing a pivotal role in improving access of cancer patients to precision medicine genome technologies in the South-East of Melbourne. Vikki has strong interest in the accurate and precise application of genome technologies in research and clinical applications, methods development and in molecular pathology.
Vikki has served on the Managing Executive committee of AGTA for over 10 years in various roles including convenor of the 2010 annual conference, President, Vice President, Secretary and Public Officer.
