The world-class redevelopment is set to solidify the highly regarded centre as a showcase venue for Queensland, deepening its place on the international stage and enhancing Cairns Convention Centre’s position as a leader for business events.

Community activities the Cairns Convention Centre is involved in

Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre
The Cairns Convention Centre is a supporter of the CTRC and funds the rehabilitation of a turtle every year. Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre (CTRC) is a voluntary non-profit organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick and injured turtles. The Great Barrier Reef is home to six of the world’s seven species of marine turtles. A number of these are seriously threatened by a diverse range of natural and, more significantly, human induced factors. The rehabilitation facilities are located on Fitzroy Island and James Cook University.

Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef
The Cairns Convention Centre is a founding partner of Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef. Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef is the world’s first collaborative movement for the Reef – a unique, data-driven and united approach to Reef conservation. The aim of Citizens of Great Barrier Reef is to mobilise the world in measurable action for the Reef, providing a platform to share knowledge about its true condition, facilitate practical solutions, and showcase the people, projects and organisations leading the charge.
