Professional Bio

Dr. Kandarp Joshi is a senior postdoctoral research scientist at Johns Hopkins University working in the lab of Dr. Ranjan Perera. Dr. Joshi received his PhD in Bioinformatics from CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB), New Delhi, India in 2018.
He worked as postdoctoral fellow at Institute of Integrated Cell-Material Science, Kyoto University, Japan where he worked on understanding spatiotemporal dynamics of RNA modifications in mammalian brain and developed multi-omic data integration tools for functional characterization of DNA/RNA modifications in context dependent manner. His current research interests include identification of novel multi-modal biomarkers for risk stratification of childhood brain tumor patients. He is also using long read sequencing methods to decipher landscape of posttranscriptional modifications in tumor suppressor genes in childhood brain tumors and their mechanistic role in tumor progression.
